Physician Level II Training Certification

This course entails fulfilling requirements for physician Level II Training Certification  credentialing.

In this four and one-half day offering attendees will learn how to systematically read cardiovascular CT studies with complete hands-on workstation experience. Attendees will be proctored to perform 150 total cases including 50 live cases covering patient and scanner set-up, contrast injection, dose reduction and management, image acquisition, reconstruction and post-processing. Attendees will learn how to troubleshoot issues and challenges that might be encountered in practice.

  • Normal and Early Coronary Artery Disease
  • Moderate Coronary Artery Disease
  • Coronary Anomalies
  • CTA Artifacts
  • Cardiac, Non-coronary Pathology
  • Non-Cardiac Pathology
  • Severe Coronary Disease
  • Analysis of Coronary Stents
  • Coronary Bypass Surgery
  • Introduction CTA Emergency Department
  • Introduction TAVI-TAVR CT

At completion of this course attendees will be able to:

  • Confidently read cardiovascular CT studies comprising native coronary artery disease, bypass, stents, congenital heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, and incidental findings
  • Use workstation protocols and applications to perform coronary images assessment and analysis.
  • Perform quantitative cardiac image analysis
  • Recognize and solve challenging cardiac CTA cases
  • Prepare for the Physician Level II Training Certification requirements of the ACC/AHA

Requirements for Physician Level II Training Certification Clinical Competence in CCT

  • NON-CONTRAST REQUIREMENTS
  • Board certification or eligibility, validmedical license, and completion of 4weeks of training (to includecoursework, scientific meetings, andcourses/on-line training)
  • AND 150 non-contrast CCTexaminations (for at least 50 of thesecases, the candidate must be physicallypresent, and be involved ininterpretation of the case)
  • AND completion of 20 hours of courses/lectures related to CT in general and/orCCT in particular
  • FULL CCTREQUIREMENTS
  • Board certification oreligibility, valid medical license,and completion of 8 weeks(cumulative) of training inCCT
  • AND 150 contrast CCTexaminations. For at least 50 ofthese cases, the candidate mustbe physically present, and beinvolved in the acquisition andinterpretation of the case
  • AND evaluation of 50 non-contraststudies
  • AND completion of 20hours of lectures related to CT in general and/or CCT in particular
